Dr. Stratos was born and raised on the Greek island of Crete. Drawn to the health sciences from an early age, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the School of Dentistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, graduating as valedictorian with the highest GPA in his class and receiving the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece Award for academic excellence. Prior to dental school, he studied at the University’s School of Pharmacy, gaining valuable pharmacology knowledge that continues to benefit his patients. His journey has taken him from the lecture halls of Athens to serving in the Greek military at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens and caring for patients in private practice.
He went on to complete a three-year residency in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning both a Certificate in Periodontology and a Master of Science in Dentistry. During residency, he was honored to serve as Chief Resident in his second and third years and conducted clinical research on innovative periodontal therapies. Upon completion of his training, he was named a finalist for the prestigious 2025 Kramer Award, recognizing exceptional achievement among periodontal residents nationwide.
For Dr. Stratos, periodontics is the perfect blend of precision, problem-solving, and personal connection. It allows him to design individualized treatment plans that not only restore function and aesthetics but also build trust and lasting relationships with his patients. His goal is for every patient who walks through the door to feel respected, understood, and cared for, not just as a case, but as a person.
He resides in Rochester and enjoys exploring new places, playing soccer and pickleball, and hiking. He believes that joy, teamwork, and curiosity—whether on the field or in the operatory—are essential ingredients for a meaningful life and a thriving practice.
