At Periodontal Specialists, in addition to traditional therapies for the gum disease treatment, we are pleased to offer our patients the most advanced technology in laser-assisted therapy.
The Periolase offers a gentle, conservative and less invasive therapy for the gum disease treatment or periodontitis disease using the Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP™). Although there are many lasers on the market, Periolase is the only laser that can perform LANAP™.
During LANAP™, a small pulsed laser is passed between the tooth root and the gum tissue. Periolase targets and removes only diseased tissue and kills the bacteria that are the cause of gum disease. This leaves the healthy underlying tissue intact. There is no cutting of tissue or suturing required. Patients find the procedure to be comfortable and the recovery short with little to no discomfort.
